Natron-Hayat is entering the final phase of preparations for a key modernization of its PM1 paper machine, conducted in close collaboration with Valmet, a global leader in papermaking technologies. The completion of the project, scheduled between May and mid-June 2025, includes the installation of a new IntelliJet V headbox, Valmet IQ dilution profiler, IQ Moisturizer and the reconstruction of the press section.
All components will be fully integrated through the Valmet DNA automation platform, enabling precise control over grammage and moisture across the machine – enhancing production consistency and operational efficiency. One of the major highlights of the modernization is the introduction of a new 60–90 gsm mix kraft paper grade, produced with 20% to 100% recycled fiber content. This new addition will meet the increasing demand for sustainable solutions in e-commerce, retail packaging, industrial, and special protective packaging applications. Improved fiber distribution, moisture uniformity and machine-direction strength will result in visibly enhanced paper quality - optimized for a wide range of converting and end-use processes. Upon completion, the upgrade is expected to lead to a 50% increase in the annual production capacity of PM1. This investment not only strengthens Natron-Hayat’s role as a reliable European partner in the field of kraft paper, but also reflects the company’s ongoing focus on modernization and steady development in papermaking technology.
